After the confusion about the “rest days” and the departure of some states from the federal-state resolution, many citizens are confused.
What is valid in which federal state at Easter?
What about night closings, Easter bonfires and can I visit the family?
The regulations in the individual countries at a glance:
Thuringia
Family visits
: From Good Friday to Easter Monday, two households with a maximum of five people are allowed to meet, children under the age of 14 belonging to the household are not included here.
Before and after Easter, the rule that is already in effect now remains that members of a household may meet a maximum of one other person, not including children here either.

Exit restrictions
: Depending on the local infection situation, exit restrictions may apply in municipalities.
The Saale-Orla district has already announced that people there will only be allowed to leave their house or apartment for good reason between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. until April 11th.
Church services
: Easter with the biblical story of the resurrection of the crucified Jesus Christ, which stands for hope, is the most important festival of the churches alongside Christmas.
Church services with believers are also possible during the pandemic, but live broadcasts on the Internet and television services are also used.
The celebration of Easter Vigil in Erfurt's Mariendom will be streamed live on the Internet by the MDR (April 3, 9:30 p.m.).
Hygiene concepts apply to services in churches.
Easter bonfires
: Usually from Maundy Thursday they are a meeting place for socializing with lots of people, beer and bratwurst.
This is not possible in pandemic times.
The ban on events and gatherings in public spaces also applies to Easter bonfires.

Corona tests
: Free rapid tests are also possible in several districts on public holidays, for example in pharmacies and test centers operated by social associations.
Brandenburg
Family reunions
: From April 1 to April 6, due to the increasing number of corona infections, there is a nightly exit restriction from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Private gatherings are to be further restricted.
The condition is a regional seven-day incidence of 100 or more for three days in a row.
This applies to almost all rural districts and independent cities.
Only the districts of
Uckermark
and
Dahme-Spreewald
were below the value on Wednesday.
The emergency brake is loosened somewhat in Brandenburg over Easter: Regardless of the seven-day incidence, private meetings with members of
two households are
allowed, but a maximum of
five people in
total are allowed to
meet.
Children up to 14 years of age are exempt from this.

Nursing homes
: Visits to nursing homes are also possible without limitation if at least 75 percent of the residents have received the two necessary vaccinations for at least two weeks.
In addition, the employees must be vaccinated, and the facility must not currently have a corona outbreak.
Hamburg
Family reunions:
Instead of sitting by the Easter fire, the people of Hamburg should stay at home at night.
Anyone who stays
outside
after 9 p.m.
for no good reason
risks a fine.
From Good Friday, it is not allowed to leave the apartment between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. without a valid reason.

Traveling at Easter is not recommended.
In Hamburg, private gatherings are limited to your own household and a maximum of
one additional person
.
Children under the age of 14 are not counted;
there are no other exceptions.
That means: A gathering of more than two households is an administrative offense, warns the city on its website.
Easter services:
The Archdiocese asked the Catholic communities in Hamburg to adjust the times of their Easter services to the curfews.
Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
Excursions:
Zoos and animal parks in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania prepare for visitors to Easter under corona conditions.
The zoo in Rostock expects a good number of visitors, as zoo spokesman René Gottschalk said.
On Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, mascots are supposed to distribute little surprises to the visitors.
Zoos and animal parks are generally allowed to open their outdoor areas in the northeast.
In regions with more than 150 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, however, they have to close again.
The Hanseatic city of Rostock is still a long way from that.
This also applies to the district of Vorpommern-Rügen, in which the Marlow bird park is located.

Saxony-Anhalt's Minister of Health, Petra Grimm-Benne, calls on people to refrain from unnecessary contacts and travel over the Easter period.
"The pandemic has no Easter holidays."
It is important to keep your distance and stay at home, even if it is difficult for families, for example, not to visit their grandparents.
Everyone protects their loved ones best if they forego direct contact, appealed Grimm-Benne.

Easter excursion:
There is no longer a 15-kilometer radius around your own place of residence as there is in winter, so a hike in Saxon Switzerland or through the Radebeul vineyards is in principle allowed.
However, the state ordinance provides for exit restrictions if the weekly incidence in a city or in a district exceeds the 100 mark.
Then the apartment or house may
only be left with good reason
, for example to go shopping, to see the doctor or to do sports outdoors.
On Thursday, according to the RKI in Saxony,

any region
in Saxony below the incidence of
100

In the districts of
Pinneberg
and
Segeberg
as well as in Flensburg, contacts are even more limited from Thursday.
According to state police director Michael Wilksen, additional police patrols are used primarily in places of tourist interest, in local recreation areas and in areas with high numbers of infections.

In view of the increased number of new corona infections, shops in Kiel, Lübeck, Steinburg, Neumünster, Duchy of Lauenburg and Stormarn can only be entered after Easter by making an appointment.

Curfews:
A number of municipalities, districts and, with the Hanover region, also the largest metropolitan area in the country have issued night curfews.
Either the restrictions already apply or come into force on Good Friday night.
Attention: An excursion is "no good reason" to stay outside during the curfew, emphasized the deputy head of the Corona crisis team, Claudia Schröder.
Nationwide, there is also a
ban on gathering
from Good Friday to Easter Monday
, which means that most Easter fires fall flat.
Animal parks or zoos, however, can be visited with advance notice and there is basically nothing in the way of day trips.

According to the RKI, NRW had an incidence of 129.1 on Maundy Thursday.
Meetings in public spaces are only possible with a maximum of
one person
from another household.
Over the
Easter weekend
, the contact restrictions will also be
relaxed
in regions with a high corona incidence
.
According
to the Corona Protection Ordinance,

plus one additional person
applies
, the retail trade may only allow one customer or one household by making an appointment.
Hairdressers remain open.

As a model project, the city of Bremerhaven wants to test access to the city center and shops after Easter after quick tests.
Saarland
Family get-togethers:
The state is providing nationwide discussions with plans for planned easing after Easter.
Saarland's Prime Minister Tobias Hans (CDU) appealed to the Saarlanders to avoid contacts as much as possible over the holidays, even without Easter rest.
And if you want to meet, you should definitely do a test beforehand.

Excursions and shopping:
The retail trade and hairdressers are open under certain conditions, as are zoos and libraries.
An appointment must be made at museums, galleries and memorials.
After Easter, Saarland should become a model region.
Hesse
Excursions:
Many excursion regions in Hesse are preparing for a
rush of visitors
for the Easter weekend
.
Numerous walkers and hikers are likely to be drawn to popular destinations.
This worries the authorities.
For example, the parking spaces on the Wasserkuppe should be closed at Easter in order to avoid excessive visitor pressure as on some days in the past winter.
The managing director of the Tourismusgesellschaft Rhön GmbH, Bertram Vogel, also appeals to day trippers not to head for Hesse's highest mountain over Easter, especially since there is a lack of catering and sanitary facilities are closed.
The city of Eltville in the Rheingau is also expecting many visitors in sunny weather on the Easter weekend, as a spokeswoman said.
"We have our security police on duty and the depot also provides an emergency service to clean the rubbish from the much-visited places on the Rhine." The parking spaces are open.
Family get-togethers and shopping:
Corona rules have been in place in Hesse since Monday, in some cases stricter.
When shopping, appointment shopping is replaced by "Click & Collect", ie online purchase with later pick-up.
Bookstores, garden centers or hardware stores remain open regardless of the incidence.
The following rule applies to private meetings: two households with a maximum of five people can come together.
