The results are edifying.

According to the Union Pirate union, the majority at Rennes 2 University, the vast majority of students at the Faculty of Social Sciences say they encounter significant difficulties, largely caused by the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to a questionnaire distributed online to which more than 3,000 students answered, 51% of those polled declared "to feel bad or rather bad".

For 56% of them, the situation has even deteriorated since November and the distribution of the same questionnaire.

Worst.

According to the student union, 21% of respondents have had suicidal thoughts in recent months.

So of course, the survey was not conducted by a large polling institute and does not respect the traditional "quota method".

But with 3,000 respondents out of the 13,000 students contacted, these results can be taken seriously.

Is Rennes-2 University worse than the others?

Does she treat her students so badly?

This is obviously not the case.

The university of human sciences is simply the reflection of a growing discomfort in the student ranks.

A malaise that was underestimated for too long and which seems to increase over the months spent in confinement or under curfew.

However, the results of the questionnaire reveal areas for improvement for the University of the Breton capital since 20% of respondents believe that the distance education set up by the establishment is "bad or even very bad", against 19% who consider it "good or very good".

The majority evoke a “random” situation.

However, it is surprising to see that only 65% of respondents want a face-to-face return.

In January, the hashtag # EtudiantsFantômes appeared on the networks, embellished with thousands of testimonials of distress.

At the end of 2020, an Ishare study conducted by Confins revealed that 11% of students had had suicidal thoughts during the first confinement.
