According to police, at around 0:30 pm on the 17th, a 78-year-old man who was removing snow from his roof in Maejima, Yuzawa City slipped and fell.



The man was taken to a hospital in the city for treatment, but he was seriously injured with a broken hip.



According to Akita Prefecture, there have been a series of accidents associated with snow removal since the 14th of this month, when heavy snowfall occurred in the prefecture, and 10 people were injured by 7:00 pm on the 17th.
