Elliot Page had revealed "to be gay" in 2014 and very quickly became a spokesperson for the LGBT community in North America.

“My pronouns are he / iel and my name is Elliot,” the 33-year-old actor wrote on “Umbrella Academy” in a social media post.

Tuesday announced her gender switch on social media to be transgender and called Elliot Page.

“Hi friends. I want to share with you the fact that I'm trans. My pronouns are he / iel and my name is Elliot,” the actor, formerly known as Ellen Page, writes on Instagram accounts, Twitter and Facebook reflecting its new identity.

Umbrella Academy

on Netflix. 

No big budget movies since 2014

, depicting the battle waged by a gay couple for the recognition of their rights and has been involved in many other similar projects.

Elliot Page married dancer-choreographer Emma Portner in 2018.

While the artist hasn't gotten a role in big-budget movies since 

X-Men: Days of Future Past

 in 2014, he has always rejected the idea that it could be related to a rejection of Hollywood after his "coming out".

"I like being queer"

Elliot Page thanked his supporters in the transgender community on Tuesday for helping him "love who I am enough to go in search of my authentic self."

“I love being trans. And I love being queer,” Elliot Page writes.

"The truth is, while I'm deeply happy right now, I'm afraid of intrusion, hatred, 'jokes' and violence," the comedian continues in his post. 

Elliot Page is also attacking political leaders, targeting unnamed President Donald Trump and his supporters, who he says have "criminalized trans medical care and denied our right to exist."
