In the next more than a month, seven wonderful plays of the four types of opera, Peking opera, drama and Kunqu opera will be staged in turn, focusing on the demeanor of Beijing-style drama.

　　The theme of the first Beijing-style cultural drama festival is "Nourish the soul of the city with the beauty of drama", which includes various forms such as Beijing-style drama performances, Beijing-style drama experience workshops, and summit forums. The performances will include dramas "Qin's House", "New Year's Eve", "Shichahai", Kunqu Opera "Matchmaker", opera "Camel Xiangzi", "Zhenghong's Flag", and Peking Opera "Guan Tianpei".

The famous director Gu Wei served as the artistic director of this year's Jingweier Drama Festival.

Wang Ban, chairman of the Dongcheng District Dramatists Association, believes that the Beijing-style culture has nourished Beijing's art and benefited a lot from his performances. He hopes that the energy-saving performance of Beijing-style drama will “retain the beautiful nostalgia of Beijing” for Beijingers.

　　The key repertoire of this Beijing Taste Cultural Drama Festival, the drama "Qin's House" funded by the Beijing Culture and Art Fund in 2019 will be staged at the Beijing Comedy Theater from December 17th to December 20th.

The play is adapted from Mr. Lao She's only drama "The Three Brothers of Qin" that has not been put on stage, and will be directed by Gu Wei and the young director Wang Yi.

Although "The Three Brothers of the Qin Family" has never been put on the stage, it has a big background. The classic drama "Tea House" is born out of a tea house play in the play.

　　In the play, the Qin family mansion located in the old Beijing city is the place where the story takes place, with Qin Boren, Qin Zhongren, and Qin Shuren as key characters. Through the three historical stages of the Qing Dynasty, the early years of the Republic of China, and the War of Resistance Destiny, seeing the big from the small, reflects the epitome of the times.

　　Director Gu Wei accurately extracted the essence of Mr. Lao She's original script, fully tapped the time-honored intrinsic value of the script, adhered to the style of realism, and completed the work with "big realism, small freehand" techniques.

He strives for perfection in character depiction, line language, stage props, etc., trying to fully present the life atmosphere, folk customs and customs of old Beijing in the script.

At the same time, the crew strongly invited five national first-class actors from the Beijing People's Art Theatre, Zhang Wankun, Wu Shanshan, Yin Wei, Lan Faqing, and Yang Fan from the Northern Kunqu Opera Theatre, to play the main roles in the drama.
