29 cars rear-end collision within 100 meters of Guangxi No. 1 high-speed section

  On the evening of October 29, a number of rear-end collisions involving 29 small cars occurred in the Quannan Expressway 1469km away from the Narong Interchange in the direction of Nanning.

  At about 7:20 that night, the police from the fifth brigade of the Highway Management Detachment, Traffic Police Corps, Public Security Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, rushed to the scene after receiving the call.

At the scene, the police saw that in a short section of about 100 meters, 29 small cars with double flashes were parked horizontally and vertically. Some of the cars were knocked off a large part of the rear, and some of their bodies were dented, and cars were scattered on the road. The fragments after the body impact, one of the small cars was injured.

  120 medical staff found that the woman's injuries were not serious.

Due to the large number of vehicles involved, the police at the scene were overwhelmed, and some of the vehicles in the accident were dragged to the Nanning East Toll Station, requesting the police box police to assist in handling the accident.

  The police found out through preliminary investigation that the cause of the accident:

  1. There is not enough safe distance between cars;

  2. When driving at night, the line of sight is weak.

The vehicle in front slows down when a traffic accident is happening in front, and the vehicle behind cannot respond in time to slow down due to the obstructed vision, and rear-ends the vehicle in front;

  3. When driving in rainy and foggy weather, the road surface is slippery, and the resistance is reduced. After braking, the car behind will travel a certain distance on the relatively dry road;

  4. The accident site is near the Narong Interchange. Drivers and friends can detour to Wutang toll station and Nanning Port toll station at Narong Interchange and drive into Nanning City.

  According to the police at the scene, one of the accidents was caused by the driver Tan, who was going to change lanes to enter Nanning City while driving to the road section where the incident occurred, and collided with Huang's car that was moving forward.

  The traffic police in Guangxi reminded everyone that the recent rainy weather is frequent and the fog is heavy. When driving, you must control the speed and maintain a safe driving distance. At the same time, you must concentrate on driving and always pay attention to the surrounding road conditions.
