  • This Saturday is Halloween, the opportunity to tell horror stories.

20 Minutes makes you discover those of cursed places or haunted houses all over France.

In Morbihan, we tremble for this story: that of the ghost of a little boy who prowls in the castle of Suscinio.

  • In truth, the legend of the young boy is rather ready to smile.

According to witnesses, it is not scary and rather teasing.

  • The Bretagne Paranormale association recorded intense activity in the attic during a private visit.

It is a majestic building wedged between a marsh and the immensity of the ocean.

In Morbihan, the castle of Suscinio is well known to locals who go there regularly to walk there or attend screenings on its facade in summer.

What visitors know a little less is that the building appears to be home to paranormal activity.

As Halloween approaches,

looked at this mysterious monument.

“There are a lot of legends that surround the castle.

We were told about a back door that would pass under the moat and allow people to escape discreetly in the event of a siege.

But we never found the door ”, slips, smirk, Mathilde Hamerstehl.

She has been working at the estate for seven years as a development manager.

And it's been seven years since she heard about another legend.

That of the ghost of a child who would haunt the attic of the castle.

“It's a story that passes by word of mouth.

We have no written about this legend.

Quite simply because at that time, we did not write these things ”.

Legend has it that the soul of a young child of 5 or 6 years old would still live in the walls of this castle built in the 13th century, which was repeatedly enlarged by Dukes of Brittany wishing to show their power.

This son of a captain of the guard would have died very young, for an unknown reason, when the duke Jean V lived there.

Since then, he would have fun signaling himself to visitors from time to time, but never scaring them.

“We feel a benevolence in the castle.

We always feel our visitors relaxed, nobody hurries.

The atmosphere is soft, ”testifies Mathilde Hamerstehl.

A few years ago, the Bretagne Paranormale association “tested” the place with its instruments and had access to the attic, a place closed to visitors.

"We had recorded a strong activity in the highest floors", reports Caroline, one of the members of the association.

This is where the young boy would have stayed the time of his short life.

Deployed in the middle of the night when the building was empty, the instruments of the association had given surprising results.

“We had recorded children's voices quite clearly,” says Ollie, another investigator present at the scene.

His sidekick had even seen a lamp go on by itself and growls echoed against a woman on the team.

“Several people had heard it.

So many phenomena in the same place, it's very rare, ”admits Ollie.

In the midst of its 165,000 visitors registered last year, the castle regularly sees people passing by with a pendulum, curious to probe the soul of the place.

Some testify to a presence.

The legend does not die out.
