Since October 15 and the classification of the Grand-Est region as a risk zone by Germany, crossings across the Rhine had become complex.

But three Länder, Saarland, Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, had agreed.

It was possible for French residents in Alsace and Moselle to cross the border without having a negative PCR test.

Only one condition: not to stay more than 24 hours on German territory.

The prefect of Bas-Rhin announced it this Friday on France Bleu Alsace.

“As far as the races are concerned, this does not come under the exemptions for leaving the department,” said Josiane Chevalier.

“People will have to do their shopping in their department, as close as possible to their homes,” she said, specifying that there would be “tolerance this weekend”.

Afterwards, no more cigarettes, cleaning products or cheaper diapers ...
