Child constipation NPO goes to fact-finding survey October 31 4:57 for 10,000 elementary school students nationwide

In recent years, many parents and children have been suffering from constipation of their children and visiting specialized outpatient clinics, but the actual situation is unknown.

Under these circumstances, the NPO has decided to launch a survey of about 10,000 elementary school students nationwide to check the number of defecations.

According to the NPO "Japan Toilet Lab", in recent years, many parents and children have been suffering from constipation and visiting specialized outpatient clinics, and a questionnaire survey three years ago showed signs of constipation in about 20% of children. about it.

However, the details of daily defecation are not known, and in November, the NPO decided to conduct the first fact-finding survey of about 10,000 elementary school children nationwide.

Based on international standards, children will be given a "poop check sheet" with cute illustrations of seven types of stools, and will be asked to record the number and shape of defecations during the 10 days.

It means that children can grasp the situation of constipation on a daily basis by checking what applies to them, such as the stools being small and rolling, and the softness that makes them crumble and look like mud.

If constipation becomes chronic, discomfort may lead to a decrease in concentration, so NPOs will analyze the actual condition of constipation in children from the surveyed data and utilize it for future measures.

Atsushi Kato, CEO of NPO "Japan Toilet Lab", said, "Early care is important to prevent constipation from getting worse. Children's poop is a sign that clearly conveys changes in their physical condition, so children also have a habit of observing. I want you to attach it. "

The check sheet will also be posted on the NPO website from November 4th.
