An Italian village that pays money to whoever wants to live in it ... in exchange for these conditions

The old Italian village of Santo Stefano di Sisanio has announced its intention to pay up to 40,000 pounds to people willing to move and live in it in an effort to restart the economy, according to the British "Daily Mail" website.

The village is located on a hilltop in the mountains of the Abruzzo region and currently has a population of only 115, 13 of whom are under the age of 20, and 41 over 65.

The offer includes a monthly wage of up to £ 7,200 for the first three years, and the money will be paid to new residents of the medieval village in monthly installments.

The new residents will also be provided with the living requirements and will have to pay a nominal rent.

Those looking to start a business there will get the help of the local town with a one-time grant of £ 18,000.

The offer is only available to those residing in Italy, or who have the legal capacity to become citizens of the European Union.

Applicants must also be between 18 and 40 years old and have lived in the village for at least five years.
