A commemorative ceremony was held with more than 10 million users of the facility of the famous "Sunamushi Onsen" in Ibusuki City, a hot spring resort in Kagoshima, after 1968.

"Saraku", a facility of Ibusuki City's famous "Sunamushi Onsen" that encourages sweating by entering the sand warmed by the hot springs that spring up on the coast, has been around since it was opened, including the time of its predecessor. It's been 68 years.

On the 26th, a ceremony was held to commemorate the number of users exceeding 10 million.

The 10 millionth person was Rika Kurahashi, an office worker from Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, who was handed a panel of assorted marine products such as bonito flakes to be given as a memorial.

Mr. Kurahashi said, "I feel like I've won the lottery. I've heard that it will warm up from the core, so I'm looking forward to entering."

In addition, Mayor Etsuo Toyotome of Ibusuki City said, "I would be grateful if you could publicize Ibusuki's Sunamushi Onsen when you return to your hometown."

In response to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, this facility is taking measures such as reducing the number of people who perform sand bathing at one time to about half the normal number.

The number of users has dropped to about 20% of the average year, but recently the use of "Go To Travel" has been increasing, and it is gradually recovering.
