The Board of Trustees of the Awsha Bint Khalifa Al-Suwaidi Award (Girl of the Arabs) revealed that the award received in its first session for the year 2020 about 100 varied participation, indicating that the door to receiving entries in the competition was closed, after a successful promotional campaign that witnessed remarkable turnout from all over the Arab world.

At the start of its first session, the award relied on digital promotion in light of the current circumstances the world is witnessing due to the "Corona" crisis, to facilitate the process of communication with the participants, as the "Arab Girl" witnessed remarkable turnout and interaction.

The award, which closed the door for entries on October 10, received about 100 entries, and the number of participants in the correspondence field was about 61, in the field of literary study about 23, and in the field of recitation 16.

The Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Award, Dr. Rafia Ghobash, said: “Through the participations we received in the first session of the Awsha Bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi Award, we can see the extent of the celebration, gratitude and appreciation of society, creators and intellectuals of this high literary personality, and the value of the award’s message in what it contains of An inspiring cultural impact ».

She added, "The participants in the award, some of which heralded a creative and wonderful future, and some of which we had to exclude in the first stage of screening, in order to preserve the level of the permissible, and in appreciation of the creativity value of the Arab girl."

For his part, the sponsor of the award, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, expressed his happiness with the number of participants in the first session of the award, stressing that "the number of posts and the quality of those interested in the award is evidence of the importance that Nabati poetry still has, and it is an opportunity for Arab creators to unleash their creative talents." However, he believes that the Awsha Bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi Prize will become an important annual event in the calendar of Nabati poetry at the level of the Arab world.

Al Habtoor thanked the Board of Trustees of the Awsha Bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi Award, headed by Dr. Rafia Ghobash, for their tireless efforts in making the award a success.

National cultural gesture

The Awsha Bint Khalifa Al-Suwaidi Award (The Arab Girl) came under the slogan “He has rhymes like a rock for a smooth”. Linguistically important for the people of the region in general, and for the people of the Emirates in particular, the award also comes in honor of her prestige and eternal poetic talent, and to consolidate the role of Emirati women and their influential presence in the cultural and literary arena, as it is considered a school of Nabati poetry in the region.
