The special exhibition on the theme of NHK's taiga drama "Kirin ga Kuru" held in Gifu City began on the 14th with new exhibits such as the national treasure sword that was handed over to the main character, Akechi Mitsuhide.

The special exhibition "Kirin ga Kuru" has been held at the Gifushi Historical Museum since last month, collecting weapons and documents related to the characters, and from the 14th, about half of the 100 or so items have been replaced and new. The exhibition has started.



Of these, the national treasure sword "Tsuda Toe Nagamitsu" was obtained after Akechi Mitsuhide defeated Oda Nobunaga at Honnoji Temple, and later passed on to the Tokugawa family.

In addition, Nobunaga's autographed document addressed to Tadaoki Hosokawa, who fought with him, was designated as an important cultural property of the country, with the content that he said, "The work in the war was wonderful."



A man from Gunma Prefecture said, "I was impressed with the hanging scrolls. I'm looking forward to seeing what I saw today in the taiga drama."



Shinsuke Yoshida, curator of the Gifushi Historical Museum, said, "I want you to see the precious items related to Mitsuhide and imagine what kind of person you were."



The special exhibition is open until the 3rd of next month, and advance reservations are required online to prevent infection with the new coronavirus.
