A snake of standard length .. in the grip of hunters

Two fishermen caught a Burmese snake approaching six meters in length in Florida, which is a record length in this US state, which is inhabited by reptiles of various kinds, as local authorities announced.

The snake, one of the largest species of snakes in the world, weighed 47 kilograms, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Protection Service.

The snake (5.71 meters) was caught 60 kilometers from Miami, by hunters Ryan Osborne and Kevin Pavlides, who took a picture showing them, along with the precious catch.

The Burmese python in Florida is classified as an invasive species, as it was introduced from Southeast Asia at the end of the last century.

These animals found an ideal ecosystem for their reproduction in the vast, humid, subtropical Everglades in the southern peninsula, which includes a national park with nature reserves.
