In a "private meeting" with Al-Jazeera on (3/10/2020), he called on Armenia to present its evidence on these accusations, and criticized the French President Emmanuel Macron's repetition of these accusations during a press conference without evidence, and made it clear that Macron called him by phone, and that he told him a lie Armenian allegations.

On the other hand, Aliyev confirmed that he had evidence of the participation of mercenaries from the eastern Mediterranean region brought by Armenia to the war on its side.

Aliyev held Armenia responsible for the escalation and the continuation of the conflict in the Nagorno Karabakh region, and considered that the lack of international mediators' insistence and pressure on Armenia to implement the Security Council resolutions is one of the reasons for the continuation of the conflict.

He also accused Armenia that it does not want peace, because it wants to keep the territories it occupies permanently, and it does not want the current situation to change, which is something that Azerbaijan cannot accept.

He pointed out that in 1993 Armenia occupied the Nagorno-Karabakh region, and that the Security Council issued 4 decisions calling for the rapid and unconditional withdrawal of its forces from the region, and that the Minsk group was established to facilitate the implementation of these decisions, "but for 28 years no result was achieved." The second escalation on this issue is the lack of pressure on Armenia to start implementing UN Security Council resolutions.

Aliyev also assured Al Jazeera that his country did not start the current war, but rather that Armenia did so through its insistence on provoking Azerbaijan, as it launched attacks last July on Azerbaijani targets, and did not retreat from its aggression until after the Azerbaijani forces inflicted a great defeat on it. And he said that Azerbaijan withdrew after that from the Armenian lands it occupied during the conflict, because it does not want to occupy the lands of Armenia, but rather wants to recover its occupied lands only.

He spoke of the continued Armenian provocations in August and September, as Armenia sent terrorists to target civilians in Azerbaijan.

Regarding the international demand for a ceasefire, he said that he informed all the leaders of the countries who contacted him that he is ready for peace, but the Armenian government does not want that, as evidenced by the statements of the Prime Minister in it days before the outbreak of the confrontation that Nagorny Karabakh is Armenian territory, as well as the seven impossible conditions that he set To resume negotiations.

The Azerbaijani president stressed that this time he is determined to continue the war until the matter is completely settled, and that he will not back down from his decision, after it has been proven to him that the international community has been unable to implement its decisions towards Armenia for 28 years.

He criticized the role of some major countries that claim to want to mediate in the current crisis, stressing that some of them do not play fair mediating countries.

He said that the current Armenian prime minister created this crisis, to evade political problems facing him, as the opposition leader was arrested, as well as two former presidents before the investigation, as well as the implications of Corona.
