No new Covid restriction for Toulouse residents this week.

The Pink City is one of the territories which, according to Olivier Véran, could "switch to a maximum alert zone" next week if the measures already taken "do not produce their effect".

The video interview this Thursday between Prime Minister Jean Castex and the mayor of the Pink City resulted in a status quo, even if it is fragile.

“Appointment is made in a week.

Except in the event of a sudden worsening of an indicator, ”Jean-Luc Moudenc (LR) told

.

The new measures - including closing bars at 10 p.m. and closing gyms - only came into effect on Monday.

Indeed, it is difficult to say after just a few days whether they have borne fruit.

Two out of three indicators in the red

One certainty, however, Toulouse and its metropolis already meet two conditions to switch to scarlet on the cards.

The incidence rate of the virus is, according to the regional health agency, 261 cases per 100,000 inhabitants while the threshold is set at 250. In people over 65, it reaches 137.4 (for a threshold at 100).

The only reassuring indicator is the rate of Covid patients in intensive care beds in the region, at 19% for the moment (for a threshold of 30%).

There is no reason that it does not increase with the number of cases even if there is a lag effect of one to two weeks.

Toulouse is therefore suspended.
