The Bokstart project has attracted attention through its so-called book starters: librarians who make home visits to new parents.

During the visit, the parents receive books and information about the importance of reading for children's language development.

Now the project can become permanent.

The Government's proposal in the new budget bill is to make project activities a permanent activity in all of Sweden's municipalities.

The government also wants to double the appropriations for Book Start, from SEK 10 to 20 million annually.
