Execution of a Chinese teacher on charges of poisoning 25 primary school students

A Chinese teacher was sentenced to death after poisoning 25 primary school students, killing one of them, as declared by the local judiciary.

A middle-level court in Jiaozuo City, in the central Henan Province, today, Tuesday, indicted teacher Wang Yun on charges of adding sodium nitrite into soup prepared for students in March 2019, motivated by revenge against the school they attend.

This chemical compound is used especially in preserving meat, but it may be toxic in large doses of it.

The court stated that Wang knew about the harm that the product could inflict, but did not care, and decided to poison the children "without paying attention to the consequences."

The judiciary also indicated that the teacher was not in her first experience in this regard, as it became clear to him that she also tried to poison her husband in 2017 after a dispute between them.
