[Explanation] Beside the lively commercial street in Siming District, Xiamen, there is a seemingly ordinary Southern Fujian-style ancestral hall-Jiangxia Hall. This is the last ancestral hall built by Huang Peisong, the last Wu Zhuangyuan in Chinese history, in 1910. Known as "the old building with the most artistic value in Xiamen".

【Explanation】Jiang Xiatang sits south and north, five rooms wide, eight rafters deep, 12.5 meters high, with double eaves on top of the mountain, raised beams, masonry and wood structure, with algae wells in the center of the top, in the shape of a bucket, with layers of bucket arches. It is rich and beautiful without losing its ancient charm.

Huang Peisong was the last Wu Zhuang Yuan in the Qing Dynasty. Our ancestral hall was bestowed by the emperor to Huang Peisong (built). Our place was originally one of the four customs (one of) China. The address of the Min Customs is here. Later, the Min Customs moved. We, the Huang clan, redeemed this land, and then we built this Jiangxiatang here.

[Explanation] The Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching. Hundreds of Huang clan members on both sides of the strait gathered at Jiangxia Hall in Xiamen to hold a ceremony to worship their ancestors. In the past, it was the starting place for the mainland, especially the folks from southern Fujian to "pass Taiwan" and "set down in Southeast Asia." Xiamen Jiangxiatang has also become the first choice for the descendants of ethnic people from Taiwan and overseas Southeast Asian countries to return to the mainland to find their roots and visit their ancestors.

One of the traditional cultures of our Chinese culture is that we must worship our ancestors during the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is the same in Taiwan and also in the mainland. So I think this is quite meaningful, so I must participate.

[Explanation] Affected by the epidemic, the number of ancestor worshipers has decreased this year, but there are still nearly 20 representatives of Taiwan compatriots from Taichung, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Kinmen and other places in Taiwan to participate. Taiwan compatriot Huang Yumian is one of them.

He told reporters that the traditional customs of being careful and chasing farther should not be forgotten.

  (I) took a photo of our father and placed it under the flowers on our main altar. I just want to tell my father that I am very happy to come to Xiamen today to participate in all the activities of the Huang family’s ancestor worship. By the way, I would like to take this opportunity to say a happy Mid-Autumn Festival to my dad in heaven, and let him also feel that there are so many friends and clan ancestors who are named Huang. We are together and worshiping our ancestors here. We have not forgotten our roots.

[Explanation] It is reported that the ancient Huang surnamed family lived in Jiangxia County (the site is in Yunmeng County, Hubei Province), and the "Jiangxia Hall" became one of the most popular Huang surnamed prefectures. It was completed in Jiangxia, Xiamen in 1918. Tang, after a hundred years of vicissitudes, is now not only a building, but also a link to the Huang family at home and abroad.
