On September 25, the country’s youngest Yao Autonomous County, Gongcheng Yao Autonomous County, Guangxi, held the 30th anniversary celebration meeting to celebrate the 30 years of the people of all ethnic groups in the county. Fruitful results have been achieved in many aspects such as unity and progress, rapid improvement of comprehensive economic strength, and improvement of urban and rural appearance.
Gongcheng Yao Autonomous County in Guangxi was established in 1990 with the approval of the State Council.
The county administers 6 towns and 3 townships, with a total population of 300,000, inhabited by 12 ethnic groups including Yao, Han and Zhuang, and the minority population is 64.24%.
Over the past 30 years since the county was founded, the social and economic construction has undergone earth-shaking historic changes.
Compared with the initial period of establishment, the county's GDP has doubled by 34 times.
Created the "Gongcheng Model" of ecological agriculture and the national experience in the construction of rural human settlements. It has become the most beautiful brand in Gongcheng with good ecology, livable and suitable for raising, and became the "Longevity Town in China" in 2014.
Over the years, Gongcheng has won the "Chinese Habitat Environment Model Award" and the "Sixth China Baosteel Environmental Award".
It has successively won more than 20 national honors such as "National National Unity and Progress to Create Demonstration County", "National Ecological Agriculture Demonstration County", "National Recreational Agriculture and Rural Tourism Demonstration County".
