Sources confirmed to Al-Jazeera that tight security reinforcements had been deployed in the governorates of Cairo, Alexandria and Suez.
Also, local media reported that the security forces arrested a group of people who tried to block the highway in Cairo.
As part of the security authorities' pursuit of protesters on Friday, sources told Al-Jazeera that security forces arrested dozens of them in the governorates of Giza and Damietta.
It also fired birdshot and tear gas canisters at the Giza, Luxor and Damietta demonstrations.
The sources added that clashes took place in Damietta between the security forces and the demonstrators.
For his part, artist and contractor Mohamed Ali called on President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to open public squares to demonstrators.
He also demanded, in a recorded tape posted on his Facebook page, for the release of detainees, a halt to the demolition of violating properties, and an immediate halt to the implementation of the reconciliation law.
On the other hand, lawyer and political analyst Asaad Haykal said that the demonstrations that took place in Egypt over a period of 6 days should not be underestimated, or exaggerated as well, and considered as demonstrations that express the majority of the people.
Heikal added that there is a large sector of the Egyptian people affected by the demolition of their homes and the imposition of fines on them, and therefore the demonstrations express "some" of this people, and there are beneficiaries from these demonstrations, the Muslim Brotherhood at the forefront.
He believed that the authority was expecting this state of rejection of the demolition of the violating buildings, calling on the president to release the detainees.
