The American Television Critics Association has given out annual awards to series, and you can start right away with a resume: we obviously would have had a different choice.

As I said many times, content is becoming multicultural and Joker is watched all over the world.

And the choice made by the association does not correspond to the choice that would have been made in our country, judging by the trends of Netflix.

Take the "Keepers" that have won the most nominations.

This work became the TV series of the year, an outstanding new TV series, and an outstanding TV movie or miniseries.

But no matter how skillful the camera work, editing or soundtrack, in Russia it will never become a cult.

In Russia, they look more at Umbrella Academy, despite the fact that it takes into account all modern trends, from the presence of ethnic minorities to taking into account the various sexual preferences of the heroes.

But even visually it is closer to us.

And no matter how childish this story is, on Netflix it hits the top list of TV shows in Russia.

And “Keepers” cannot fall into the preferences of our viewer, since we, in principle, have no comic book culture.

Now we are waiting for the film "Major Thunder", and if this is a breakthrough, we will see the first example of comics entering the Russian viewer.

Why the Keepers received so many awards is also understandable: the problem of racism is acute in the United States.

Against the backdrop of the debated (and condemned) "Gone With the Wind", against the backdrop of "Hollywood," Murphy's fictional expression of how black artists were empowered to be equal players in the American film industry, superheroes are grabbing attention here.

First of all, because they personify the caste of the outcast.

And this is not only about racism, but also about the social stratification of society.

The problem of this stratification is close to us, but still not to the same extent as it is to the Americans.

There, if you do not have health insurance and social status, you can remain without education and without medical care.

At the same time, both in the Soviet Union and in modern Russia, free education and medicine are the number one task.

We do not have people at risk of being left without medical care, or those who cannot afford to study.

Yes, the quality varies from region to region, but the standard is the same.

The series "Better Call Saul" is much clearer to the Russian audience.

An adventurer lawyer, trying to win his place in the sun and frustrated by the rules of the game, gets involved in increasingly dangerous games with the mafia.

There is a corporate style of the series "Breaking Bad", the spin-off of which this project is.

And it is really interesting to watch it, because we also have a fresh story of an adventurer lawyer on the example of the case of Mikhail Efremov.

Saul Goodman is like a simple guy, by whose example you can see what happens if a person is addicted to breaking the rules.

Choosing The Heirs as the best drama series I understand.

It's a great show.

The desire of the tycoon's children to take over control of his empire - the plot is clear and presented in such a way that it constantly keeps the viewer in suspense.

The main character of this story, Logan Roy, is very similar to Frank Cowperwood from the popular trilogy of Theodore Dreiser.

Many of my acquaintances watch and recommend this job, because this is where our own history is revealed: thanks to modern medicine, people at 60 and 70 (hello to Trump and Biden) and up to 80 years old do not want to retire.

Especially if they have money and the ability to look after their health.

And Logan Roy is a vivid illustration of a man who does not want to pass the reins of power to younger heirs.

For us, this story is close and understandable, because there is an example of Russian oligarchs who take the same position, although their own children have already grown up.

Just look at the story of Sasha Fridman, who is engaged in a completely independent business, because from the documentary about him we know the position of his father: children must achieve everything themselves.

And this problem is universal for the whole world.

And then (apart from personal awards) the choice of critics becomes even less clear.

The best comedy project was "Sheets Creek" about a family of the nouveau riche who lost everything except the city of the same name, where they were forced to move.

This series with a very American humor may be good, but where is the super popular "Trash"?

I haven't watched the show yet, but it is recommended to me so passionately that it was only possible to reward the show based on these reviews.

We can do this on Facebook.

The conclusion from the awards ceremony can be made as follows: in America, first of all, the political context is taken into account.

And as soon as this happens, the award ceases to be independent, becoming biased.
