Xinhua News Agency, Wuhan, September 12 (Reporter Yu Pei) On the 12th, the Hubei Provincial Museum located on the bank of East Lake in Wuhan ushered in the first large-scale cultural relics exhibition to be reopened after the epidemic-"Hua Zhang Reappears-Zeng Shijia Cultural Relics" Special exhibition".

Last year, Zeng Boke’s father’s bronze wares, who successfully returned to China from Japan, were exhibited in Hubei for the first time. The rich and exquisite unearthed cultural relics reveal the 700-year history of Zeng’s country that has not been included in the history books, allowing the audience to better Appreciate the unique charm of Jingchu culture.

"Hua Zhang Reappearance-Special Exhibition of Zeng Family Cultural Relics" selects the bronzes unearthed from important Zengguo sites such as Yejiashan, Sujialong, and Wenfeng Pagoda in Hubei. They are divided into "Shi Feng Jianghan", "Handong Great Kingdom", "Chu King" The four units of "Hua Zhang Reappearance", a total of 62 groups of cultural relics, present the bronze culture of Zeng from the early Western Zhou Dynasty to the mid-Warring States period.

The reporter learned that with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, this exhibition borrowed the bronzes of Zeng Boke's father returned from Japan in 2019.

These are the most valuable batch of cultural relics that China has successfully stopped illegal transactions in the international cultural relics market and returned to the motherland through transnational recourse.

Fang Qin, director of the Hubei Provincial Museum, said that there are a total of 8 bronze wares from Zeng Boke's father, all with the name of the owner and the names of the objects such as "甗", "盨" and "霝" are very precious.

The shapes, patterns and inscriptions of the ware conform to the period style of the bronze ware from the late Western Zhou Dynasty to the early Spring and Autumn Period. It is speculated that it may have come from the tombs of Zeng State in the Suizao Corridor, Hubei.

"This group of cultural relics is complete, exquisitely produced, and rich in inscriptions. It not only fills an important gap in the cultural relics of the Zeng Kingdom unearthed in Hubei, but also demonstrates my country's determination and ability to trace the lost cultural relics overseas." Fang Qin said.

Liu Yuzhu, director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, said that the exhibition of the bronze collection of Zeng Boke's father at the Hubei Provincial Museum is an important measure taken by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage to help Hubei to revive and support Hubei's cultural relics after the epidemic.

The selection of this exhibition brings together the exquisite cultural relics unearthed from the Zengguo site in the past 10 years, which can fully reflect the history and culture of Zengguo, and present a high-level cultural feast for the audience and tourists.

At the same time, audiences at home and abroad pay more attention to the retrieving of lost overseas cultural relics, and gather social consensus and vitality for more successful retrieving in the future.
