The final local qualifiers for the Arab Reading Challenge as part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives will start today nationwide, in its fifth session to choose the champion of the Arab Reading Challenge at the UAE level from among 452,000 students who participated in the latest version of the largest reading initiative of its kind, which honors Creative people that encourages reading and reading, promotes creative thinking and cognitive achievement, and reinforces the status of the Arabic language among the younger generations.
The final qualifiers for the Arab Reading Challenge are nationwide to choose the UAE champion for the fifth round of the Arab Reading Challenge.
The jury, which includes 157 members of experts, specialists and educators, evaluates challenge competitors who have read and summarized 50 books over the past period, and tests their skills in summarizing, analyzing, concluding, comprehending cognitive content and extracting and presenting its most prominent results in an optimal manner, while evaluating other personal skills such as expressing ideas Concepts are explained and simplified.
The qualifiers, which are carried out digitally, include participants from schools in the public and private sectors from different regions of the country, and aims, with choosing the champion of the Arab Reading Challenge at the state level, to honor the distinguished supervisor from among the 1435 supervisors who supported the participating students, and to name the distinguished school from more than 1,430 schools. She said that the Arab Reading Challenge is going through its final stages for this session, and the competition is at its most intense. All our students aspire to achieve the dear title, noting that all those who reach the finals, and even the participants are the champions of the reading challenge, because the desire to participate and win advanced positions highlights a lot of vocabulary. The positivity that reassures us that this competition has become entrenched and deep-rooted among students, and is widespread not only at the national level, but also in the Arab world.
Al-Muhairi stated that with this current health circumstance, the challenge kept pace with developments with flexibility and worked to overcome obstacles, whether for participants or arbitration committees by establishing electronic platforms for training, and using electronic platforms to provide reading materials for students, as well as replacing paper reading passports with the reading passports link. The current session of the Arab Reading Challenge has witnessed the adoption of innovative digital solutions in light of the precautionary and preventive health measures applied globally to contain the emerging corona epidemic.
The initiative adopted digital solutions to provide reading material to students, and to record their contributions by summarizing books in an electronic format instead of writing them down on paper, as was the practice in previous sessions.
For her part, the Secretary-General of the Arab Reading Challenge Initiative, Mona Al-Kindi, said: “In this year's session of the Arab Reading Challenge, in which more than 21 million students from around the world participated, and set a new record as an Arab reading initiative that is the largest of its kind. »The advanced digital infrastructure at the state level in the participation of hundreds of thousands of students from various government and private schools in the UAE in the challenge, in conjunction with the application of distance learning options and other precautionary and preventive measures against the (Covid-19) pandemic in various educational systems around the world.
She added: “The number of schools participating in the current round of the Arab Reading Challenge has increased to more than 1,430 schools nationwide.
Despite the (Covid-19) pandemic, the importance of the initiative to students, educational institutions and parents, and it is an indication of the firmness of the reading project, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to bring about a knowledge shift, as a qualitative annual station awaited by Reading lovers are keen to participate in it and compete with it.

The previous session of the Arab Reading Challenge was crowned fifth-grade student Muzna Najeeb at the Al-Ibdaa Model School in Dubai, the first champion of the challenge at the state level, while teacher Wedad Muhammad Al-Shehhi got the title of "Distinguished Supervisor", and Al-Rams School for Basic Education won the title of "Distinguished School."
