(Muhammad - 31 years - a Syrian) is unable to obtain 30 thousand dirhams for his treatment for one year from the neuropathy disease that he suffered years ago, which caused him many health problems, including tremors in the body and weakness in the muscles, and he is currently considered a person of determination, because he is disabled He is in a wheelchair and lives on strong painkillers that cost 2,500 dirhams a month, and he needs them for a year, and the health insurance card does not cover the cost of his treatment, so he appeals to someone to help him find the amount of medicine.

Muhammad tells his story to Emirates Today, saying: “I have been suffering from neuropathy for three years, which causes me involuntary movement and involuntary urination, due to a medical error as a result of undergoing surgery three years ago, as this operation caused me health problems. Several including tremors in the body, weakness in the muscles, inability to move and severe pain, and I became paralyzed because of the surgery that I had undergone in the head, and after I was normal, I turned into a disabled person who was unable to move.

He added: “I entered Shakhbout Medical City Hospital, and underwent medical examinations, analyzes, and a doctor's examination, as it was found that my treatment consisted of strong painkillers and nerve medications, the monthly cost of which is 2500 dirhams, and this is an amount above my modest financial capabilities in light of the health insurance card does not cover the cost of my medicines. I do not know what to do under the circumstances that I am ordering, noting that I submitted a request for assistance to charitable societies and institutions, but unfortunately, I did not find any response.

He continued: “I was the only provider for my family of three, but now I am unable to work due to my health condition, to the point that my wife tried very hard to search for work to support me with the requirements of life, and it did not succeed, so I appeal to the people of good and merciful hearts to help me manage the cost therapeutic".

Diabetes and polyneuropathy

Polyneuropathy is a disorder that occurs when nerves in the peripheral nervous system, which is part of the nervous system outside the brain and spinal cord, are damaged, and it is most common due to damage to nerve cells.

It usually causes pain and numbness in the hands and feet, and can result from injuries, infections, metabolic disorders, and exposure to toxins. The most common causes of neuropathy are diabetes.
