The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation is organizing a virtual forum on “the late poet Habib Al-Sayegh ... the biography of modernity and renewal”, on Wednesday and Thursday the 16th and the 17th of this month, at 7 pm on the “Zoom” platform, and the sessions of the forum are broadcast through the page of the Al Owais Cultural Foundation on “ Facebook".
A group of poets, critics, writers and intellectuals will participate in the symposium, with working papers, testimonies, and readings from the poetry of the late poet, whose first anniversary passed on August 20, and a film entitled: “The Glow of Poetry and Life”, about the late poetic and media career, is shown during the forum.
The forum will be opened next Wednesday by Dr. Suleiman Musa Al-Jassim, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, with a welcome word, followed by a presentation of a documentary film about the late poet and then the seminars will begin, in which Dr.
Maryam Al-Hashemi with a paper entitled: “Habib Al-Sayegh’s Poetic Self-Industry”, followed by Sameh Kaoush’s paper entitled: “The Lament of Places, the Richness of Visions: The Controversy of Object and Place in Habib Al Sayegh’s Text.” Dr.
Muhammad Abdul Qadir Sabil with a critical reading (Future Consumption: The Weirdness of Habib Al Sayegh Double). At the end of the first day, Saeed Al Saqlawi presents a personal testimony on Habib Al Sayegh, and moderates the sessions of the first day, Ibrahim Al Hashemi.
The second day of the forum will be opened by Dr.
Samar Rouhi Al-Faisal researched his title (The Sayegh's prose .. Reading in the articles), after which Dr.
Khaled Omar bin Qaqah lighting under the title: (Habib Al-Sayegh ... the penetrating journalist and the burning poet).
Khalifa Yassin Bin Arabi paper entitled (The duality of self and place in Habib Al-Sayegh's poetry ... a reading in the texts of "Poems on Bahrain"), and Ahmed Al-Shahawi presents an intervention under the title: (Habib Al-Sayegh: The biography of the poet in his text), followed by a testimony provided by Youssef Aboulouz, and concludes The forum will read poetry readings from Habib Al-Sayegh's poetry presented by Mahmoud Nour, and the second day's sessions will be moderated by Dr. Parween Habib.
The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Foundation also produced a five-minute documentary film about the late poet Habib Al-Sayegh (1955-2019), reviewing some of his biography.
