On September 11, the Nanjing police reported that they had successfully detected a homicide case 17 years ago.
On December 5, 2003, a woman was strangled to death in a rental house on Biwa Road in Nanjing. Due to technical restrictions, the case has not been solved.
In June 2020, the police found a breach in the evidence left at the scene of the crime and used this to locate the suspect.
On August 20, the 69-year-old suspect, Zhu Mouyi, was arrested after he absconded for 17 years.
