20 years of waiting for Daho

The title of this new album refers to a scene that Jane Birkin lived, and that she imagines universal.

“You wake up around 2 am-3am and you need to be reassured, and that the person sleeping peacefully next to you tell you everything you want to hear,” she recalls.

"At this hour, you become a kind of terrorist of the state of love."

But "

Oh! Pardon you slept ...

" especially takes the title of a film directed by the singer in 1992, in which play Jacques Perrin and Christine Boisson.

The feature film then became a play.

"Who was coming out of the stage?" Asks Jane Birkin.

"Étienne Daho. Once, twice, maybe three times. And he said to me 'Why don't we make a record on this theme?'. He asked me quite often."

The singer will have finally had to wait until 2020 to see his dream come true.

This collaboration was finally obvious, according to the singer.

"He understood me so perfectly, so completely," she says of the figure of modern young people.

"Our anxieties seemed to be the same. So did our hysteria. He completely understood where I wanted to go, and he pushed me even further. It all went like a trance."
