On Thursday, the Crystal Gala 2020 took place in a different format. Due to the corona virus, the gala was broadcast digitally without any audience in place. In all 19 categories, SVT was nominated. In total, SVT won awards in seven different categories.

Among the heaviest categories were this year's TV personality, this year's TV drama and this year's program.

In the category "Entertainment Program of the Year", SVT won the program Best in Test, which is hosted by David Sundin and Babben Larsson. The presenters were also nominated in the categories "Male Host of the Year," Female Host of the Year "and" Program of the Year ". 

Caliphate won the prize

Leif and Billy won the category "Humor Program of the Year". In the series, viewers follow the orphaned brothers Leif and Billy Öhman and their lives in Sörbäcken in Norrland. Their promissory notes grow high in the small house and their everyday life consists of a constant search to find new ways to make money. 

Best Female Actor was won by Gizem Erdogan, who plays one of the main roles in SVT's drama series Kalifat. Amed Bozan from the same TV series also won the award as male actor of the year.

Documents from within - Saving a child won the award in the category Review of the Year. In the documentary, journalist Bo-Göran Bodin examines what has happened to eight-year-old Elias. The case has upset thousands of people online.

Gym program won award

Guldfeber won this year's documentary, which depicts the tangle around the Royal Coin Cabinet - a museum of monetary and financial history as well as medal art. The police have called it the largest criminal investigation in the history of Swedish cultural heritage.

This year's special prize went to SVT's program Hemmagympa with Sofia who trained with the whole of Sweden in front of the screens during the spring.

Honorary award to Adam Alsing

This year's honorary award was given to Adam Alsing, who died this spring in covid-19. Adam Alsing had a long television career and since the 1990s has led some of the most popular radio and television programs in Sweden. Among them, the morning program in Mix Megapol, Wake up with NRJ, Big Brother and many more.

Kristallengalan this year was led by Petra Mede.
