Are you hitting the road at the end of the week and want to know how to avoid holiday traffic jams? It's here that it happens. In this penultimate weekend of the summer, know that the traffic promises to be "difficult" on the roads in the direction of the returns. The day of Saturday is classified red at the national level, according to Bison Futé.

"The four days of this period will be difficult on the roads in the direction of the returns", adds the organization in a press release, because with the school holidays which end, "the main part of the road flows concerns the returns of the coastal regions towards large metropolises ”. Thus, traffic in France is globally classified orange in the direction of returns Friday, Sunday and Monday.

Orange for departures, and even red in the Southeast

Motorists going on vacation will also encounter difficulties on Saturday, with a day classified as orange nationally in the direction of departures, and red in the south direction from Lyon, in the Rhone Valley and along the Mediterranean coast.

The rest of the weekend (Friday, Sunday, Monday) should be fluid in the direction of departures, with traffic classified as green throughout the metropolis, specifies Bison Futé.
