On August 19, the Three Gorges Dam opened the "ten holes" for flood discharge. Affected by the upstream water, the Three Gorges Reservoir had a flood peak of 73,000 cubic meters per second at 16:00 on the 19th, refreshing the 2012 peak value (71200 cubic meters per second). The Three Gorges Project released a flow rate of 47,400 cubic meters per second and cut the peak by 25,600 cubic meters per second, alleviating the flood control pressure in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir rose to 160.08 meters due to the impoundment of the flood, which exceeded the flood limit by 15.08 meters.
