The Emirates Writers Union is organizing an evening entitled "Habib passed from here", to commemorate the first anniversary of the passing of the poet and journalist Habib Al Sayegh, in loyalty and appreciation to him. The Omani writer Saeed Al Saqlawy, President of the Omani Society for Writers and Writers, the Emirati poet Talal Salem, a member of the Union, and the Emirati journalist and researcher Nasser Al Dhaheri, a member of the Union, will participate in the evening, which will be held at 8 pm tomorrow, Wednesday, on the Zoom platform. It is noteworthy that the late Habib Al-Sayegh, who was born in Abu Dhabi in 1955, held until his departure on 20 August 2019 the position of Secretary-General of the General Union of Arab Writers and Writers, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Writers and Writers Union, editor-in-chief of Literary Affairs magazine, and responsible editor-in-chief of Al Khaleej newspaper. He had a daily column in the newspaper, and he was one of the founders of the Emirates Writers and Writers Union in 1984, and he has published more than 11 poetry collections.

The Secretary-General of the Federation, Dr. Muhammad bin Jarash, said: “There is no doubt that the poet and journalist Habib Al-Sayegh left a great void in the cultural arena, because he was not an ordinary poet, as he achieved advanced ranks in the prose poem at the level of the Gulf and the Arab world, which is in addition to that. He was able to transfer the Emirati prose poem to large spaces.
