At 8 a.m. on August 12, a partial collapse of masonry occurred during the construction of refractory bricks in the quenching tank of the 190t/h CDQ project of Shanxi Jinda Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., the general contractor of Beijing Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. The accident caused 2 deaths and 6 minor injuries.
After the accident, the local accident emergency response leadership group composed of emergency management, public security, health and sports, fire protection, Wutong Town and other departments was established to actively carry out accident rescue and disposal. The Emergency Management Department of Shanxi Province and the Luliang City Emergency Management Bureau also sent working groups to the scene of the accident to guide the work. Currently, the wounded are in stable condition. The aftermath and investigation of the accident are being carried out in an orderly manner.
