"Xinhua Dictionary" is the most influential modern Chinese dictionary in New China. It was compiled and published with the power of the whole country. As the compiling, revising and publishing unit of "Xinhua Dictionary", the Institute of Languages of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Commercial Press have always adhered to keeping pace with the times, dedicated to the people with quality products, and continued to organize the revision of "Xinhua Dictionary". Liu Danqing, director of the Institute of Language Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that the "Xinhua Dictionary" (12th edition) was prepared for revision in 2013 and was officially launched in 2015 and gradually implemented. After 5 years of careful and meticulous revision, the draft was revised and followed up. Upgrade more than 50 special items to make the dictionary content more in line with social needs.
"Xinhua Dictionary" implements norms, follows the times, and scientifically revises, not only upgrades, but also many innovations.
