Tokushima Coast Guard 7 crew members infected 2nd cluster in the prefecture August 6: 18:37

Tokushima Prefecture announced that seven crew members of a patrol boat newly belonging to the Tokushima Coast Guard have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus. The infection of the crew of the patrol boat is now 9 people, and the second cluster in the prefecture is said to have occurred.

Governor Iizumi of Tokushima Prefecture announced at a press conference on the 6th that seven new Coast Guard officers belonging to the Tokushima Coast Guard were newly infected.

Seven of them are crew members of the same patrol boat in their 20s and 50s, and all of them have mild symptoms.

With this, the crew's infections totaled nine, and the prefecture announced that a cluster had occurred on the patrol boat.

The cluster occurrence in Tokushima Prefecture is the second case following the day service center in Anan City.

Governor Iizumi said at a conference on the 6th, "We will work with the national cluster countermeasures team and experts in the prefecture to investigate the infection route and analyze the mechanism of cluster formation."
