This came in his statements for the Thursday (6/8/2020) episode of the "Beyond the News" program, which asked about the relevance of the arguments that call for international participation in the investigation of the Beirut port explosion, and the soundness of the logic of those who reject it.

Fadi Saad considered that Lebanon needs international experts and a fact-finding committee to conduct a transparent and independent investigation, because the Lebanese security services cannot carry out an independent investigation that may cause its condemnation, he said.

A member of the Future Movement's political bureau added that the de facto ruler in Lebanon is Hezbollah, which will not allow any judicial or security apparatus to gain access to real information about this explosion. He stressed that there is no trust in managing the crisis in Lebanon, as well as the judicial and security services in the country, as evidence that no satisfactory end has been reached in any political assassination operation that took place in the country.

For his part, Walid Al-Ashqar, a member of the political council in the Free Patriotic Movement, said that it must wait 5 days to consider the results of the investigation conducted by the committee formed by the Supreme Defense Council and the Council of Ministers, to ensure whether the Lebanese judiciary is able to bear all the responsibilities of the real stakeholders or is it unable to do so. .

Al-Ashqar said that it was necessary to arrest every suspect who caused the Beirut port explosion from 2013 until now. He considered that there is a failure by successive governments, in addition to the port manager.

It is noteworthy that former government heads and political forces in Lebanon called for international participation in the investigation of the Beirut port explosion, due to what they called a loss of confidence in the ruling system. For its part, the government affirmed that there is no need for foreign participation in the investigation, and confirmed that calling for it means abolishing the Lebanese judiciary and state.
