The Junta de Castilla y León has asked the court for authorization to isolate the Burgos town of Aranda de Duero due to the high incidence of Covid-19. According to EFE, the investigating court 2 of Aranda de Duero (Burgos) has authorized the proposed containment plan. The city has more than 32,000 inhabitants and suffers from a high incidence rate of coronavirus and where community transmission is taking place .

Aranda de Duero also returns to phase 1 and thus joins the Valladolid towns of Íscar and Pedrajas de San Esteban that since last Saturday have been isolated for 14 days.

The situation of infections in Aranda de Duero (Burgos) does not stop growing and its basic health areas account for this Thursday 131 cases in the North and 68 in the South , which leaves an incidence rate of 66.69 per 10,000 health cards in the first and 42.05 in the second.

In addition, the basic area of ​​rural Aranda, which until now had maintained good behavior, is also complicating itself with 29 positive cases and an incidence rate of 37.41, according to information from the Board's transparency portal.

"Possible uncontrolled expansion"

"In view of the epidemiological situation and the active outbreaks of Covid-19 declared in Aranda de Duero and in order to avoid a possible uncontrolled expansion of SARS-CoV-2 infection, the Ministry of Health, as health authority and within the framework conferred by national and regional legislation, has agreed to implement a series of containment measures that affect this municipality of Burgos, aimed at containing a possible community transmission of the disease, "said the statement sent by the Board of Castilla y León.

This decision, according to Health, is agreed in coordination with all the administrations involved, and it has been the Board that has requested judicial ratification.

The order will take effect from tomorrow, with its publication in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León and, initially, it has an expected validity of 14 calendar days, a period that may be extended according to the evolution of the epidemiological situation that has led to the adoption of containment measures.

The measures include:

  • The restriction of the free entry and exit of people in Aranda de Duero, except for those movements, duly justified, that occur for any of the following reasons: attendance at health centers, services and establishments; compliance with labor, professional or business obligations; return to the habitual place of residence; assistance and care for the elderly, minors, dependents, people with disabilities or especially vulnerable people; due to force majeure or need situation; and any other activity of a similar nature.
  • The circulation by road and roads that pass or cross the territory of said municipalities will be allowed, as long as they have their origin and destination outside of them.
  • The movement of residents within the affected municipalities is allowed, although displacement and non-essential activities are discouraged.
  • Visits to residential centers for the elderly are suspended , except in individual circumstances in which additional care and humanization measures are applied, to be adopted by the center's management. Likewise, the exits of the residents abroad are suspended.
  • Participation in any group or meeting of a private or unregulated nature in said municipalities will be limited to a maximum number of 10 people , taking place in both public and private spaces, except in the case of people living together.
  • The activities of the rocks and of a similar nature are suspended in said municipalities.

Alternative Sonorama Suspended

The Sonorama Ribera organization, which announced the cancellation of this year's edition of the coronavirus on June 16, has also decided to suspend all the events it had planned for August 14 and 15 and which focused on a series of Concerts in a smaller format aimed at restrooms and staff who had been fighting Covid-19.

This has been confirmed by the festival director, Javier Ajenjo, who explained that the decision was adopted on Wednesday after holding meetings with the Aranda de Duero (Burgos) City Council and the hospital, as well as with officials from the Castilla y Lion.

Among the artists who were going to perform at these concerts were Izal, León Benavente, Miss Caffeina, Sidonie, Varry Brava and Shinova, among others.
