An analogue of TikTok from Instagram will be launched in Russia with stripped-down functionality

This is reported by TASS with reference to a representative of the company Facebook, which owns Instagram.

“Reels is not available in countries where we do not have music rights. In these countries, people will be able to watch Reels content, but not hear the music, ”a company spokesman said.

Russia is among the countries where Facebook does not have music rights. 

Earlier, US President Donald Trump demanded that the American division of the Chinese social network TikTok be sold to Microsoft or another American company before September 15, otherwise the social network will stop working in the country.
