[Explanation] In August, all parts of Hunan continued to be sunny. Although the water level of Dongting Lake and the Yangtze River, the main battlefield for flood control, gradually began to fall, the flood control situation was still tense. In order to protect the first embankment of the Yangtze River into Hunan and protect their homes from flooding, all personnel involved in the flood control of the Yangtze River in Dongshan Town, Huarong County, Hunan Province, have been exposed to high temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius for a week since the end of July, braving the scorching heat. Mosquito bites, day and night as usual, insist on completing a detailed task of patrolling the embankment every 2 hours.

The reporter saw at the flood control site of the Yangtze River in Dongshan Town, Huarong County. In order to facilitate inspection and risk elimination, a row of several kilometers long electric lights were pulled up along the Yangtze River embankment. Each dyke inspection team was on a different slope of the Yangtze River's main embankment or along the embankment. In the paddy field, the investigation was advanced, and at the same time, one person kept beating the bamboo clappers to report to the flood control and drought relief command post and residents along the coast.

How long we have to persist depends on how the water recedes. You still have to look at the water. You can't get off the embankment without retreating the water. That will definitely not work.

[Explanation] South Korea, 61 years old this year, has decades of experience in flood control of the Yangtze River. He told reporters that as the first embankment of the Yangtze River into Hunan, the flood control of the Yangtze River Levee in Dongshan Town is very important. Since the flooding on the dike on July 5, they have experienced a month when the water level of the Yangtze River soared to instability and then slowly dropped. The weather has also changed from occasional heavy rain to continuous hot sun.

South Korea said that this year, the main leaders of the party committees and governments at all levels of flood control stick to the front line and command ahead, giving them great confidence in overcoming the flood. At the same time, the fellow villagers who failed to return to their hometowns to participate in flood control also actively contributed money to the logistics of flood control to ensure that they had no worries about patrolling the dikes and keeping them. Therefore, as long as the Yangtze River does not recede to the normal water level, they will definitely stick to it.

We will not be able to get off the embankment if this flood does not recede. This is also our responsibility, no matter how high the temperature is.

[Explanation] Cai Zhigang, a cadre stationed in the flood control frontline of the Huarong County county department, believes that the government coordinates and compacts all levels of responsibilities. Villagers along the Yangtze River actively go to the levee to inspect and eliminate risks, or support the frontline through other forms to form a flood prevention situation for the whole people. This is the Yangtze River's entry into Hunan. An important reason for the success of the first embankment.

I think it should be the responsibility first. Whether it is me or our group of villagers, I walked on the embankment to protect our homeland. It has nothing to do with high temperature, heavy rain, or mosquito bites. I think this is our responsibility.
