After rallies in Bastia and Ajaccio, a hundred people gathered Sunday in front of the Calvi sub-prefecture to denounce sexual violence, we learned from the sub-prefecture. Sunday in front of the Calvi sub-prefecture, nearly "130 people were present in a serene atmosphere," said sub-prefect Florent Farge at AFP.

Since the beginning of June, testimonies have been pouring in on social networks with the hashtag #IwasCorsica, an island version of #Iwas born in the United States on June 1. The movement notably obtained the support of the mayors of Ajaccio, Bastia and Bonifacio, or of Marlène Schiappa, ex-secretary of state for gender equality. Representatives of the movement were received at the prefecture, but also at the Bastia prosecution.

"Two representatives were received in my prosecution," the prosecutor told AFP: "On July 15 and 16, the two young women we received revealed the facts they say they suffered on trial- verbal and filed a complaint. Two criminal investigations were able to be opened immediately ”. In a press release, officials of the #Iwascorsica movement, however, regretted a message "ambiguous, complex, murky, contradictory, difficult to access" from the prosecutor.

However, the latter intend to continue the legal procedures, they state in a press release: "We have decided to retain THE thing that seems essential to us: the possibility that we have of seizing the prosecutor directly by mail and will continue (...) with him transmit the testimonies that we will collect ”.
