Naya Rivera, who played Santana Lopez in the series, has been missing since Wednesday. The actress went on a boat trip on Lake Piru in California with her 4-year-old son Josey, born from her marriage to actor Ryan Dorsey, from whom she divorced two years ago. The search was launched when another boat discovered the sleeping child alone on the rental boat. The child explained that his mother had not returned from their swim. Her purse and phone were found on board, along with an adult-size life jacket, suggesting to authorities that the 33-year-old actress was not wearing it, according to NBC. The boy was wearing a life jacket. The search was interrupted on Wednesday evening and should resume this Thursday.
The disappearance of Naya Rivera is the last tragedy to date to touch the cast of Glee . In 2018, actor Mark Selling committed suicide after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography. In 2013, the main actor of the show, Cory Monteith, died of a heroin overdose at 31 years old.
