Recently, the centenary ancient lotus breeding in the Old Summer Palace has achieved gratifying results. Following the successful resurrection and blossom of Gulian, which has been sleeping for centuries in 2019, this year, under the careful cultivation of the staff of Yuanmingyuan, Gulian successfully expanded and bred a new life. The second generation of Gulian bred by Gulian grew well and entered full bloom. This year, the Old Summer Palace carried out the two ancient lotus ponds that bloomed last year and expanded them to a total of 80 square meters. The so-called multiplication refers to the cultivation of the main lotus root on the lotus root of Gulian as a kind of technical means for breeding.
In addition, this year the Old Summer Palace has discovered a lotus flower for the first time. The variety is Jiangnanchun, which is located in the lotus base variety pool. Pandian lotus grows naturally, not artificially cultivated, and it is not inherited. The reason for its formation is difficult to explain, so it is extremely precious and a symbol of good luck and beauty.
