Inter Milan have probably said goodbye to their last hopes of winning the title of Italian champion 2019-2020. The Nerazzurri wore led, Sunday July 5, against Bologna. But in the last quarter of an hour, the young Gambians Musa Juwara and Musa Barrow overthrew the Lombards (2-1).

The 2019-2020 Serie A season has not yet delivered its verdict, but it may well have turned this weekend, during the 30th day. Saturday July 4, Juventus consolidated their leadership position by beating Torino (4-1), while Lazio Rome, 2nd in the standings, bowed heavily at home against AC Milan (0-3). And this Sunday, July 5, it was Inter Milan, 3rd, who lost at home to Bologna (1-2). The fault of the Gambian duo of the Emilia-Romagna club.

Inter did not break

However, the match had ideally started for the Internazionale. In the 22nd minute, Romelu Lukaku was well placed to take a ball pushed back by the post and open the scoring. The Belgian striker then became the 4th player in Inter Milan's history to reach the 20 league goal in his first season, after Giuseppe Meazza in 1930, Stefano Nyers in 1949 and Ronaldo in 1998 (source: Opta).

In the second half, the Nerazzurri missed the opportunity to make a break. Against FC Bologna reduced to ten after the expulsion of Roberto Soriano in the 57th, Inter had the ball 2-0 from the penalty spot. But the Bolognese goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski left the big game by repelling the shot of Lautaro Martinez, then the recovery at close range from Roberto Gagliardini (62nd). Inter then drank the cup.

Refugee Juwara's first pro goal, Barrow for the coup de grace

In the 53rd minute, the Gambian Musa Barrow had issued a first warning by striking a heavy long shot that had ended his run on the post. In the 65th minute, Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic brought his young compatriot Musa Juwara into play. The two attackers hurt the Lombards.

Musa Juwara, 18 and a half (born December 26, 2001), was the first to take action. At the entrance to the surface, the “supersub” (“super-substitute”) took advantage of a badly released ball to equalize a dry hit without control, less than 10 minutes after coming into play (74th). This is the first goal among the professionals of Musa Juwara, who arrived in Italy in 2016 as a refugee.

Then, in the 80th minute, Musa Barrow, 21 years old and n ° 99 in the back, showed composure and skill to conclude a counterattack with a ball slipped in the legs of Samir Handanovic for the goal of victory. Inter, reduced to ten in turn a few minutes earlier, did not recover despite some opportunities in the final seconds.

It is a day that I will remember. I'm happy to have scored my first goal in Serie A. I want to thank the coach who believed in me,  ”wrote Musa Juwara on Instagram. Musa Barrow (6 achievements in Serie A this season, including 3 in the last 3 matches) greeted him, on the social network, his teammate: "  I am proud of you, my brother, for your first goal in Serie A  ".

Thanks to the goals of his talents from Gambia, Bologna returns from the Giuseppe-Meazza stadium with three precious points. Mihajlovic's team occupies 9th place (41 points) and remains in the race for a European qualification. On the other hand, for Inter Milan, the Scudetto may be inaccessible now. The Nerazzurri remain in 3rd place (64 points), behind Lazio Rome (68 points). Juventus (75 points) rushes towards a 9th consecutive coronation.
