Today, Emirates Today and the Dubai Police General Command are launching a humanitarian campaign titled "family unification", to help 613 prisoners of various nationalities who have ended their judicial rulings and who are deported outside the country, and they need to pay the travel tickets for their return to their countries and family reunification.

The campaign includes two prisoners of Gulf nationality, 48 prisoners of Arab nationality, 367 prisoners of Asian nationality, 187 prisoners of nationality of African countries, and nine prisoners of nationality of European countries, and the campaign comes within the initiatives of the community newspaper.

Brigadier Ali Mohamed Al Shamali, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai Police, stated that “thanks to the cooperation between us and the Emirates Today newspaper in the service of inmates of punitive and correctional facilities, the initiative that aims to achieve community participation for individuals and institutions in society has been organized, where 613 will be deported A prisoner of different nationalities who have completed their judicial rulings and who are deported outside the state and need travel tickets to return to their countries. ”

He added that a large number of prisoners sentenced to deportation from the state cannot pay the cost of their return to their home countries, so the campaign assists them after examining the requests for humanitarian aid in the institution and assessing the financial and personal status of each prisoner who is unable to bear his tickets, and then a recommendation is issued to help him to return to His country through a fundraising program and providing them with travel tickets.

He pointed out that the human campaign embodies the values ​​of tolerance and brotherhood rooted in Emirati society, and created a spark of hope to start a new life, and to meet their loved ones, and to reunite their families, stressing that cooperation with the Emirates Today newspaper through its humanitarian line, "Hot Line", is one of the most prominent pioneering models in the work Humanitarian society, which has contributed effectively to alleviate the suffering of many inmates of penal and correctional institutions and their families.

He stressed that the campaign seeks to adhere to the values ​​of tolerance and non-discrimination by providing assistance to the insolvent inmates without distinction as to nationality, race, color, sex, belief and social or economic status, in commitment to the approach of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, who instilled the values ​​of tolerance in the hearts of the people of a community Emirates, and in line with the trend of the country's leadership to adopt the values ​​of justice, equality and respect in Emirati society.

For his part, colleague editor of "Emirates Today" newspaper, Sami Al-Riyami, said that the campaign is considered one of the humanitarian and community campaigns organized by the newspaper through the "hotline" every year, and this year the campaign was launched to help 613 prisoners to transfer them to their countries and reunite their families.

He added that the campaign is not considered the first in the newspaper, as such a campaign was previously organized with the administration of the "Faraj Fund" of the Ministry of the Interior, stressing the importance of participation and community participation in helping these prisoners to manage the costs of their travel tickets and enabling them to return to their families, whether with the participation of individuals or institutions In the community.

The "family unification" campaign includes the deportation of 613 prisoners who have completed their judicial rulings and who are deported outside the country and are divided into nationalities:

- 2 of Gulf nationality.

- 48 prisoners of Arab nationality.

- 367 prisoners of Asian nationality.

187 prisoners of African nationality.

- 9 prisoners of European nationality.

Assistance requests are issued after assessing the financial and personal status of each prisoner.
