Due to confinement, the annual Sidaction collection weekend could not be held this year. To support the association, France 2 broadcasts a special program on Thursday evening: "100 years of musicals, the stars sing for Sidaction". The program's presenter, Marie-Sophie Lacarrau, detailed the system on Europe 1.

INTERVIEW

Weakened by the coronavirus epidemic, the fight against AIDS needs donations more than ever. While the confinement led to the cancellation of the Sidaction association's annual collection weekend, a special evening was organized on Thursday evening on France 2:  100 years of musicals: the stars sang for Sidaction . During this great evening, many song stars will perform during tributes to the most emblematic musicals, as explained on Europe 1 Marie-Sophie Lacarrau, who presents the evening.

"C" is a mobilization of France Televisions to support Sidaction, which has canceled its major fundraising operation ", specifies the journalist, recalling that during its collection weekend last year, Sidaction had been able to raise 4.5 million euros. "We had been able to record this program before the epidemic, and France Télévisions wanted to program it anyway," continues Marie-Sophie Lacarrau.

"Choreographies and staging specially designed for this evening"

The guest from Europe 1 promises "a very big show, with artists who will sing, dance, etc.". Among the guests, we will notably find Patrick Bruel, Vincent Niclo, Véronique Dicaire, the dancers of the Moulin-Rouge, Elodie Frégé, Arielle Dombasle, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and many others. They will reinterpret songs from major musicals, including West Side Story , New York New York , Moulin Rouge , Chicago , or The 10 Commandments . "These are choreographies and staging specially thought for this evening", announces Marie-Sophie Lacarrau, promising "never seen shows".

How to donate? This year, donations can be made by internet (www.sidaction.org), by SMS (at 92110, for an automatic donation of 5 euros) or by mail (Sidaction, 228, rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin, 75010 PARIS) .

However, the room will sound a little hollow, because the show took place without an audience. Indeed, says Marie-Sophie Lacarrau, the program was recorded "a few days before the start of confinement, and we were already concerned with limiting contact".
