Li Xiuyan, who has been living in Baicheng, Jilin Province, was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or gradual freezing, 32 years ago. Over the years, Li Xiuyan's condition has continued to worsen, and the muscles of his limbs, trunk, chest and abdomen have gradually become weak and atrophy. At present, she can only use one hand in a wheelchair, and her daily life depends entirely on her family.

Despite the inconvenience of movement, Li Xiuyan always had a wish in his heart: hope to see the sea in his lifetime. But for a gradual freezing person who is in financial difficulties and may be in danger at any time, it is quite difficult to realize this desire.
Li Xiuyan's family of three lives with an elderly mother suffering from various diseases. The monthly subsistence allowance is one of the main sources of income for the family.
At the end of May this year, Ma Honglong, a volunteer from Hanhai who had been participating in the assistance of the Baicheng Hanhai Charity Community Group, came to Li Xiuyan's house with rice, noodles and other living supplies. After a period of time, Ma Honglong raised nearly 4,000 yuan as Li Xiuyan's "dream pursuit fund", and accompanied three volunteers to accompany Li Xiuyan to Dalian to complete her "dream search".
Ma Honglong said that before leaving, he also considered that Li Xiuyan's body may be in a situation at any time.
