Actor Michael Keaton - AdMedia / Starface

Michael Keaton has always been considered one of the best actors to have played Batman, in Tim Burton's two cult films, in the late 80s and early 90s. Fans of the actor and character can start preparing for the reunion: the star of Birdman is, according to The Hollywood Reporter , on the right track to resume the role in the next film Flash .

The DCU is preparing to introduce the concept of the Multiverse, already present for several years in DC comics, where several versions of the same character exist in parallel universes. In other words, all the options are now possible, since the universes could cross if the writers decide, and the Batman of Michael Keaton would be distinct from that of Robert Pattinson, in the film in preparation directed by Matt Reeves.

Start from scratch

The Batman by Michael Keaton would in any case be considered as a mentor for several characters from the Multiverse, like that, for example, of Batgirl (a film is in preparation), like that of Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Enough to imagine that the DCU is preparing for a global event that would bring all of its characters together, like the epic Avengers: Endgame .

The DC universe lends itself to it: one of the founding stories, Crisis on Infinite Earths , in the 80s, told how the superheroes of all these parallel universes came together to try to save the Multiverse, and failed. A cataclysmic event in which hundreds of characters had died to create a unique and more coherent universe.

Flash is slated for release in 2021.
