Covid-19 detection tests offered "on a voluntary basis" to visitors, temperature control in ports and airports, enhanced resuscitation services: the authorities presented on Thursday a battery of measures to secure the tourist season in Corsica.

The request of the community of Corsica for a "green pass" or "health passport" conditioning entry into Corsica to the presentation of a negative test at Covid-19 was not accepted, but the authorities chose to offer from 1 July and "on a voluntary basis" to tourists going to Corsica to carry out a preventive test, 48 to 72 hours before the trip.

Voluntary testing

To do so, a health "self-questionnaire" will be sent when booking trips, explained the Prefect of Corsica Franck Robine and the director of the Regional Health Agency Marie-Hélène Lecenne, during a press conference.

"The voluntary test participates in prevention and helps raise awareness among those who come to Corsica but the obligation was not retained because it would have presented too many material and legal disadvantages," said the prefect.
