Yves Veyrier, secretary general of Force Ouvrière, warned Sunday on RTL that the state should not orchestrate "music of lower wages", in reaction to the speech of Emmanuel Macron, where he urged " work and produce more. "

We will have to "work and produce more so as not to depend on others", and this "even as our country will experience bankruptcies and multiple social plans due to the stoppage of the world economy," warned the president of the Republic in its fourth address since the start of the crisis.

"If it is a question of giving employment to all those who are unemployed today, all the temporary workers, all the CDDs, who found themselves on the floor, yes. If it is a question of making work all those who have a job today, rolling up their sleeves, sacrificing holidays, etc ... and leaving on the floor those who have no job, that would not work not, ”reacted the secretary general of FO.

Do not return to the idea that "wages are the enemy of employment"

“To this question of work, I associate that of wages. We must not go back to the antiphon of the last ten, twenty years, that wages are the enemy of employment, "said the leader. "The state must not orchestrate music to lower wages", he added, recalling that "half of the employed population receives less than 1,800 euros net per month".

In the speech of the President of the Republic, Yves Veyrier praised the fact of having heard "a little more unions and collective bargaining". "We will see how it translates concretely," he added.

"Macronist power is preparing us for a return to the world before"

In a press release, Solidaires for its part heard in Emmanuel Macron's speech "an exercise in impressive self-satisfaction with the management of the health crisis", saying that "the macronist power is returning to its ultraliberal fundamentals and preparing for the return to the world before. " “Forget the stocks of non-existent masks, forget the workers on the front line without materials and without tests”.

" Nothing concrete. Debt? We will have to work and produce more. We are far from ecology and work sharing… By taking care to specify that there will be no additional tax and therefore reassuring the wealthiest who will continue to accumulate while we are slaving ”, writes still in solidarity.
