Serving films

“Paradoxically, the festival takes on a new dimension with this edition like no other, insists Mickaël Marin. The studios followed us and new spectators - professional or not - will discover Annecy what they might not have been able to do if they had to travel. »4,000 accredited are already registered and it's not over! "We are in our role, that of being useful to films and artists," he specifies. This is why we have not given up: we hope that our films will have a good career both in theaters and at other festivals. Annecy has already signed a collaboration agreement with that of Deauville, scheduled for next September. Annecy intends to show there works already seen in June but also unpublished sponsored by the demonstration.

Around the world in animation

This year, Africa is the festival's guest of honor. "It's wonderful to see how animation breaks boundaries to develop in places where films are very difficult to produce," explains Mickaël Marin. This year, a very rich selection allows you to discover, among other things, Japanese, Mauritian, Chilean, Russian and, of course, French productions.

"We had chosen the films before the confinement and the creators decided to follow us", continues the director of the festival. The brilliant career of I lost my body by Jérémy Clapin, last year's Grand Prix, then Caesarized and Oscar-nominated, may be awaiting one of the films selected.

Events films
